Using Jesus

I started The 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels. ohmydang, I’m out of shape. If it didn’t hurt so bad I’d do day two. I jest, I’ll do day two, sorta. But, my last post was about my whining about what I wished I looked like. However, I have a question for you….

Do we use Jesus to make us “feel” beautiful to pacify a desire that is really to feel beautiful according to the world standards?

Is that wrong?

Is that even what it’s about?

What say you?

Wow. That’s a great thought/questions. Hmmm. . . . I would have to say that we probably do. And that it is wrong. Just as wrong as using your husband to validate your self-worth or self-esteem. We don’t want to use others to validate ourselves or to “feel” beautiful.

But the kicker is this: Should we even be concerned with the “world’s standards?” Cause if we truly aren’t, then Jesus can make us feel beautiful for all the right reasons.

If it’s for the wrong reasons, then there’s something deeper that needs dealing with.

    My two cents. ๐Ÿ™‚

BTW – let me know how the 30 day shred goes. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m starting the Couch to 5k next week. Need to shed about 25 pounds. Ugh.
