I can’t remember how many different ones he said, about four, I think. I’m sure I can come up with more, but according to LifeGroup member, Preston, JT and I have multiple personalities and facets.
For instance, Preston met us as LifeGroup leaders. Here he sees us as mentors to him and his wife, and so we are. We’ve got about 10 years on those little kids, and we pour into them as much as we can while they are in our home.
He also has met us as Bible Teachers. Whoa, now we’re getting spiritchal! We both grew up in the church with Godly parents and we both went to Bible college. (Had I known then what I know now about myself, I would have gone for the Theology degree, but alas, I was driven to the arts.)
Next, he went on to tell us that he also knows us as Wonder Parents! I’m not sure he said it that way, but I swear that’s what I heard.
And finally, two weeks ago…
LifeGroup was over and we were just kinda sitting around. There was a pause in conversation, so I took a deep breath, wrung my hands, and moved toward the fetal position as I said, “Um, you guys? I have a confession. There is something you need to know about me.”
All eyes on me. I think Pastor JT was thinking, “Oh no. What is she about to say.”
“I absolutely love…
Lego Star Wars.”
Someone faintly said, “Wha?”
“It’s an XBOX game. It’s Star Wars but everyone is a Lego piece. I’m an addict.”
I don’t think they knew what to say. I’m sure some went into silent prayer. Others, simply dumbfounded with no idea what I was talking about anyway.
This is when Preston told us his revelation. We threw him a curveball. Leaders/Mentors/Wonder Parents/XBOX Lego lovers.
Tis true. I don’t play any other game. No Halo, or Call of Duty.
Just Lego Star Wars.
They look just like the Legos that we, well, my brother, grew up with. The best part is that when Chewy goes to take out a Storm Trooper, he jumps up on them and pulls them apart.
Now, this is a G-rated video game. No blood. The little Storm Troopers just pop apart and fade away. You can be anyone! Luke, Hunky Han, Chewy, Yoda! ANYONE!
So, now you know. I heart Lego Star Wars. I won’t tell you how many hours I have given up to this game. It’s worse when cold weather comes around. Hm, we can’t go outside, guess we’ll have to watch a movie or play Lego Star Wars.
It gets worse.
The girls and I were at Blockbuster. Just as I opened the door and walked in my eyes were drawn to the oh-so cleverly displayed display of, would you believe, Lego Batman.
It comes out this week.
I’m a little OCD about it. However, I need a new phone so the game will have to wait.
I’m thinking Christmas.
Yes, I can wait three months…I think.
